Experimental Station

The SUT-NANOTEC-SLRI XAS Experimental Station is designed to accommodate a wide variety of samples, focusing on determining local atomic structures and oxidation states.

Standard Setup:

  • Sample Stage: A versatile mounting stage adaptable for standard holders or specialized in-situ chambers.

  • Detection Systems:

    • Transmission Mode: Uses Ionization Chambers placed before (I₀) and after (I₁) the sample to measure X-ray flux absorption. This is ideal for concentrated samples.

    • Fluorescence Mode: Uses a 4-element Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) placed perpendicular to the beam path. This high-sensitivity detector is optimized for dilute samples or thin films.
